IQ and CPI tests – general information
The IQ test is one of the most popular nonverbal testing procedures used by psychologists, consisting of progressive matrices that mobilize a wide range of cognitive functions. The test consists of 5 series, each containing 15 geometric images. Each board contains one larger and one smaller image. A part of the larger image is missing, and the test subject must select the missing element from the smaller images shown. There is one correct solution for each task, and the tasks become progressively more difficult.
The tasks contain geometric symbols arranged in 3 columns and 3 rows, with the missing element in the last row of the last column. To solve the task (selecting the missing figure from the given images), the test subject must recognize how the symbols change horizontally and vertically and according to what system.
The CPI (California Psychological Inventory) test is also one of the most popular personality assessment tools used by psychologists. It provides a general picture of the personality of the person completing the test, including their weaknesses and strengths.
